The Canadian picture
CSA Z1003, the National Standard of Canada for psychological health and safety in the workplace, is voluntary, but the direction of Canadian law is clear. Most provinces and territories have rules on workplace harassment and violence, mental disorders are a growing share of lost time compensation claims, and federally regulated employers have had to follow the Work Place Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations since 2021.
In British Columbia, WorkSafeBC has had policies on workplace bullying and harassment since 2013. Your exact duties depend on your province, so check with your regulator. Our courses help you meet them in practice.
Built for Canadian frontline services
Our courses are designed for frontline and safety critical work: fire, police, paramedics, health care, transit and the military. They are delivered by a Canadian Registered Safety Professional who served in the fire service for 20 years.
Each course can be general, for any workplace, or tailored to a frontline service with sector examples, case studies, hazards and support resources.
