Grants and funding

Funding routes in every province, territory and state.

Emergency management and employer training grants can often pay for this course. Here is where to look, wherever your team is.

Canada: emergency management funds

Some provinces fund local emergency management training, such as British Columbia's Community Emergency Preparedness Fund and Ontario's Community Emergency Preparedness Grant, and Indigenous Services Canada supports First Nations. Elsewhere, start with your provincial or territorial emergency management office.

Canada: employer training grants

Most provinces and territories run an employer training grant, each with its own name and rules, and Quebec has its own programs. Some exclude public bodies or are paused, so check the current terms for yours.

United States: federal and state routes

FEMA's Emergency Management Performance Grant and Homeland Security Grant Program reach local emergency management through each state's emergency management agency. State workforce agencies also fund employer training.

Each funder decides what its program covers, so check with them before you apply. Our courses are NUIRA's own courses, not courses from another provider. We will send a course outline for your application: the instructor, class size, outcomes, length, cost and how learning is checked.
